Whatcha Reading? -A night (to try) to remember? By zaptifun-

So, ready to follow me in my exploration of MLP:FIM fanfiction, most of which can be found at Fimfiction.net? This time it's a normal fic, as in it takes place in the canon universe of FIM. No crazy awesome X-Overs this time, but there's plenty of fun to be had, and I feel like recommending it to people new to the series and its fanfiction. Before getting to the review of A night (to try) to remember? by zaptifun, I need to enlighten you to one of the unwritten rules of Brony Fanfiction: Big Mac goes with everything. No, it's not a call for more McDonald's meals in your daily diet. Big Macintosh Apple is the eldest sibling of three, brother to Applejack and Applebloom, all members of the Apple family in the series. He's the stallion (alias male pony) with the most screen-time and lines -even if most consist of repetitions of Eeyup and Nope- and it comes naturally for him to be shipped with basically every mare in the show. In this case... Well, I don't want to spoiler anything. Let's get to the review, shall we?

In A night (to try) to remember, the Six mares -the group made up of the show's main characters- meet their biggest enemy ever, even bigger than Discord -which was voiced by The Q, btw-: alcohol. The reactions to different quantities are mixed, and most of the mares end up not remembering what happened after leaving the bar and needing someone to help them back home. At lunch next day, a collective recollection happens. Hilarity, embarrassment and bodily harm happens. No, seriously. The result? A great story which earns a 10/10 out of me.

What did I like?

Well, 10/10 is a vote that only comes when I can't find nothing wrong with the story. So, I liked everything in it, starting from the characterization going through the pop culture references and ending with the humor. BRAIN SLUG! The story is a short, perfectly enjoyable excerpt. Watch out for stairs and rivers, though.

What didn't I like?

The only thing that I didn't like about the story was that it ended. I WANT A SEQUEL, DAMN IT! Alas, it won't happen for a while. The author is currently out of town without internet for basic Air Force training, will only be back in another couple weeks or so. And yes: bronies are even in your armed forces.

My tips to the author

I – Write more, dude. The world won't be satisfied with just two stories. :)

That said, I leave you to the story while I go explore more Fimfiction.net. I haven't been disappointed until now, except for a fic which needed a serious grammar check.
