Let's go to the movies! -Dawn of the Dead (2004)-

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here!

Let's see what staying up all night has brought me, yes? Since I was in the mood for some disturbed sleep -although I have to admit that after reading The Zombie Survival Guide zombie movies don't bother me as much anymore- I decided to watch the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. Romero's original movie is maybe the best one among the many of his series, all in the line that he used the dead to talk about the living, and the society. This doesn't go that far, but makes up for it with other stuff. Let's go see in detail why this movie earns a 8/10 on the Meinos scale of awesomeness.

Whatcha Reading? - Fallout: Equestria by Kkat -

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here!

Today I bring you something a little different, as you've probably already noticed from the title of today's Whatcha Reading?. It's not a Naruto fanfiction. It's a Fallout fanfiction and also a... Well, no use beating around the bush. Yes, it's a Fallout and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic X-Over-COME BACK HERE!

*ties em up* There you go. Now, don't be like that. Remember my number one rule: you never express an opinion on something without having tried it. Also, I'm not here to talk about Bronitude or lack of thereof, I'm here to talk about the best Fallout fanfiction I've ever read, which earns it a 9/10 from me. I don't know about MLP:FIM fanfiction, since this is the first one I've ever read, but... Let's go in order, shall we.

CoU - Stay in Konoha (Cockle)

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here!

Sorry for the slight delay in posting this next part, but I just couldn't wrap my head around how short it came out. I was trying in any possible way to lenghten it... And that was wrong. I had to remind myself that it's not length, but writing what must be written that counts. So, short, but that's how the story has to progress. Of course, shorter piece also means shorter poll time. :D Well, enjoy!

Total Protection Break

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here! Delivering what I promised!

I've been building it up real slow, haven't I? The announcement, the new section, the teaser banner languidly ridding itself of protections and marks till all that was left obscured was the title. Well, the day has arrived to come out with it. With the title of my first ever Web-Exclusive Novel, and the first excerpt! Ladies and gentlemen, my dear fans, I give you... S-ClaSS.

It still doesn't help you much in finding out the meaning of the sentence below, does it? Well, that's the trick of good PR. Make you interested enough while not revealing everything in advance. But hey, I'm not that bad of a tease! I leave you to the beginning of the story itself, which is followed by a small FAQ. Once again, but especially today and I thank you in advance for your feedback and patronage, I encourage you to read, analyse, scrutinize, and enjoy!

The Kickstarter Manifest

Ladies and gentlemen. I hereby name 2012 as the year when shit got real. Thanks to Kickstarter, a simple idea like fund-raising made website, we are now entering a new era in videogames and soon, I believe, creative arts development.

Thanks to Kickstarter, gamers now have real power of choice. The only choice we had before this was what games to buy. Now, we have the power to choose which games are to be born at all. It's become a habit in recent years for software houses to put their money where they're sure to have a huge comeback ever since gaming became trendy, sometimes ignoring genres and their fans or just getting lazy in their results, living on ancestral fan-bases which ultimately had to face the truth too.

Now, though, we have power. From this year onward, as long as there's talent, an idea and people willing to work on it, there will be the possibility for us to support them, to make them stand and deliver what both gamers and developers want. Once again, creativity becomes king.

Remember, remember, 2012. Screw the Mayans and any other doomsday prophecy. I will survive, keep on living and playing, for from now on, we have power. And that power is called Internet.

Come hither, gamer. It's time to be a backer.

Meinos Kaen

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the fenomena that has been rocking my and lots of other people's worlds in the last few weeks: the Kickstarter fenomena. Today, I want to give you information, awareness, a window upon what's happened, what's happening and what I can't wait to see.

'What if...' #7

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here!

So, are you prepared for Easter? I'm so ready to get myself a fill of chocolate eggs and most importantly, roast lamb! Hmmm, laaaaamb... There's going to be all kind of delicious threats for you too, next week. Why?

Well, first, I'm going to post the first excerpt of my original story! The teaser banner is going to lose some more protection tomorrow, giving you a juicy hint at the story's content, or at least the world it takes place into.

Second, you're probably wondering why I still haven't posted the next part of Corridor of Uncertainty, the poll being over. Well, that's because there's a lot to write, and I want to write it well. One of your choices brought forward something that I'm certain you'll find awesome!

Third, I'm going to put up a contest pertaining to the blog. I'm sure you'll like the idea, even if it'll require you to face... REAL LIFE. *hisses at the sun*

Well, that said, let's get today's show on the road with a brand new What If! This sprouted by some thoughts I had about Naruto's great organization of villains, Akatsuki. We now know that the organization originated in Rain Country under the leadership of Yahiko with the assistance of Nagato and Konan. Their original intent was to bring peace to the world of Shinobi by making Yahiko into a God, but the plan met its end because of Hanzo and Danzo, which was also how Tobi eventually perverted and manipulated Nagato and the organization into what it eventually became.

Now, let's say that Nagato thought about what to do next a little more, this new thought brought upon by a little comment made by Jiraiya as he trained them, about how the ninja system doesn't work. It's the root of the problem that also Naruto will eventually have to face. So, let's say that Nagato decides to revise his plan. Today, I ask you...

New Xiaolin Showdown Series... Mixed feelings

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here!

Today's argument is prompted by a piece of news regarding one of my favourite western cartoon series of the last years. Yeah, I watch western stuff too. What, you thought I chanced upon Avatar by chance? Well, while ATLA is good, my favourite western cartoon by far was, and still is, Xiaolin Showdown. That series was almost perfect, but what really drew me in to it was Jack Spicer, one of the funniest villains ever. Until they made him the show's buttmonkey, that is. Well, he did get some payback in one of the last episodes where they showed a dystopian future where he ruled as an undefeated, vicious, cruel ruler. But the show had more when he was a mainstream serious threat. So, when I heard that they had announced a new series, I was ecstatic! I went in and watched the trailer at this link...

*screams in rage cursing the heavens and all above so that the Old Ones may tremble in the purity of his hate*

Corridor of Uncertainity - Graciously Accept the Offer

Hello, thar. Meinos Kaen here!

So, it seems that a prospective of some nookie won over the run-away route. Let's see where that leads us, shall we? First, a double warning.

Yes, the next scene is M-Rated.

*waits for the crowd to quiet down* Yeah. So, to keep this blog not adult rated, if you want to read that part, you'll have to either download or read the PDF online.
What follows is only the safe part of the snippet! Well, enjoy!
